Learn about the importance of one score – one team, multiple “languages” – one goal by cultivating a framework for establishing a cohesive leadership team allowing for business — IT alignment.  Using an organization health approach, we can build and maintain a cohesive leadership team, establishing clarity, communicating that clarity and putting in place just enough structure to reinforce that clarity.  An organization is healthy when it is whole, consistent, and complete and when its management, operations and culture are unified.

Scott Rose is retired from IBM as a Delivery Executive with 30 years experience in the IT Industry.  After spending 6 years in the US Navy, his 28 year career with IBM has extended from hardware design and engineering to software and services including Software/Hardware Development, Systems Integration, Logistics, Manufacturing, Training/Consulting, Transition/Transformation, Service Management and Project/Program Management.  Scott received his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification after completing the George Washington Masters program in 1997, attained IBM’s Executive Project Management certification, served on IBM’s Project Management Certification Board for 8 years and has taught project management during that time.  Scott has a degree in Electrical Engineering and a BS in Business Management.  He is certified as an ITIL v2 Service Manager, v3 Expert and is accredited as a trainer for all ITIL certifications.  During his IBM years, Scott led many large and global IT outsourcing contracts, providing Executive leadership in all aspects of Service Management including organization/people management, transition, operations, supplier management, training, financial and security management.  Since IBM, he enjoys training and coaching service management, provides IT assessments, gap analysis, strategic plans and conducts organizational health workshops aligning IT with the business.  Scott loves working with people, is active as a youth coordinator at his hometown church and conducts seminars related to youth and parenting.

We often discuss the benefits of recognition and this is a PRIME opportunity to recognize the superstars at your organization.  In our first annual awards dinner, TriHDI is looking to honor our best and brightest IT support professionals in the Raleigh area.  We have two awards programs:  Help Desk Analyst and Desktop Support Technician.  Each company may nominate up to two people in each category.  This quality program is FREE and a benefit of your HDI Membership (the Analyst and Technician do not have to be a member).

Q: Can I nominate someone if I am not a member of HDI?

A: It is not required that the nominating manager is a member of HDI, however at least one person from your company/site where the nominee works must be a member of HDI.

Q: How long does it take to nominate someone?

A: Nomination is completed on line by answering a few questions.  This should take less than 30 minutes invested of your time.

Q: What are the requirements to nominate?

A: Desktop Support Technician of the Year:

• At least one person from the company/site where this technician works must be a member of HDI
• The nominee must currently be working as a desktop support technician and must have a minimum of 6 months experience in their present job
• The nominee must provide actual desk side support.  This award is not for supervisors or team leads, as it is focused on the person delivering the services.

Key selection criteria:

• Customer Service
• Prioritization and Business awareness
• Resourcefulness and creativity
• Teamwork Technical aptitude and knowledge

A: Analyst of the Year:

• At least one person from the company/site where this analyst works must be a member of HDI
• The nominee must currently be working as a tier 1 support analyst with at least 75% of their daily tasks related directly to direct customer tier 1 support and must have a minimum of 9 months experience for the past 12 months
• This award is not for supervisors as it is focused on the person delivering the services
• Any previous year Global winner in this competition is not eligible for subsequent nomination

Key selection criteria:

• Customer Service
• Team commitment and value
• Knowledge sharing
• Leadership
• Technical aptitude and knowledge

Q: Can I have nominees for both Analyst of the Year and Desktop Support Technician of the year from the same company?

A: Yes!  There is a limit of two nominations per award per company and all nominations must be approved by the department manager.

Q: Can I nominate the same person for both Analyst of the Year and Desktop Support Technician of the year?

A: Unfortunately you cannot nominate the same person for both awards.  Please review the criteria for each award to determine the best fit.
